This page explains what we do with your details, in plain English. The short version: we only ever collect a name and an email address, only when you hand them to us, and we never sell or share them.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our two forms:
- The free coloring pages signup: your first name and email address.
- The contact form: your name, email address and your message.
That is everything. We never ask for your postal address, your phone number or your payment details. Books are bought through Amazon, who handle all of that themselves. We never see it.
Why we hold it
To send you your free coloring pages and occasional news about new books. We do that on the basis of your consent, given when you sign up, and you can withdraw it whenever you like.
To reply to a message you have sent us. We do that on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us.
Getting in touch does not add you to our mailing list. There is a separate box for that on the contact form, and it starts unticked.
Who else handles it
Three services help us run the site. They act on our instructions and cannot use your details for their own purposes:
- MailerLite stores the mailing list and sends our emails.
- Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and serves its pages.
Some of these operate outside the UK. Where that is the case, they are contractually required to protect your information to UK standards.
We do not sell, rent or trade your details to anyone, for any reason.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and roughly where they came from, for example whether someone scanned a QR code printed in one of our books. It uses cookies, so we ask first, and nothing is set unless you agree. It does not tell us who you are. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set at all, and you can change your mind later by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
Your mailing list details stay with us until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Messages sent through the contact form stay in our email inbox while we deal with them, and are deleted once there is no longer a reason to keep them.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, send you a copy, or stop using it. Just ask through our contact form and we will sort it out, free of charge and always within a month.
You do not need to ask us to leave the mailing list. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it removes you straight away.
We are based in the United Kingdom, so UK data protection law covers everything on this page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator.
Children
Our books are for all ages, but this website is not intended for children under 13, and they should not sign up to the mailing list. If you believe a child has given us their details, let us know and we will delete them.
Links to other websites
Our book pages link to Amazon. Once you follow one of those links you are on their website, covered by their privacy policy rather than ours.
Changes to this page
If we change anything here, we will update the date at the top.
